Federal Public Service Commission

The Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) is an agency of the Government of Pakistan that is responsible for recruiting civil servants along with bureaucrats in the Government of Pakistan. The agency was first established during British colonial rule in 1926. The commission was established in Pakistan after independence in 1947 under the provision of the Government of Pakistan Act.

Currently, the commission operates under article 242 of the constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. The Anatomy Commission has been provided both administratively and financially to carry out its functions independently.

1. COMPOSITION AND CONDITION OF THE SERVICE
Pursuant to the 1978 Regulations, the president is required to make the following regulations in accordance with the powers conferred by subsection (2) of section 3 of the FPSC Ordinance of 1977 (XLV of 1977).

Abbreviated title: – The regulation may be called the Federal Public Service Commission.
Definitions: – here, ‘Commission’ refers to the FPSC. ‘Member’ refers to any participant of the commission.

b) Members
The commission is composed of a president and no more than eleven members. Any increase in membership is done solely by the president. All commission members are paid as eligible government officials. Note that the serving public servant is promoted to a higher grade after his appointment. After retirement, you are given a retirement program. Members are given allowances such as Senior Position Allowance, Entertainment Allowance, Local Compensation Allowance, Transportation Allowance, among others. In addition, workers are granted licenses in accordance with the act of public servants of the corresponding grade. It should be noted that no member is attached to any pension.

2. GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The term of office of the members is as follows:-
A member of the commission can occupy the position for a fixed term from the date on which he enters until the fixed time and cannot be re-elected.
A member may resign his position in writing. It should be addressed to the president.

3. PROTECTION OF THE COMMISSION SERVICE
The Commission can work without Government interference or any other pressure as the Commissioner cannot be removed from office without the advice of the Supreme Judicial Council of Pakistan which consists of;
I) Chief Justice of Pakistan
ii) The next two longest serving Justices of the Supreme Court of Pakistan
iii) Two Senior Chief Justices of the Supreme Court (Section 6 of the FPSC Ordinance of 1977 and Article 209 of the Constitution).

In view of the above protection, a member of the Commission can therefore work without any pressure.
