Ayurvedic cure for depression

Depression, clinical depression, or major depressive disorder is a mental state of chronic despair or sadness. The person suffering from depression withdraws from active social life and spends time in isolation, further worsening the condition.

What depression is not: Clinical depression is not feeling depressed due to some loss or events that happen in everyday life. You may feel depressed for a long time or for a few days. You will be able to identify the reason for your dejection and you will get over it soon.

Heredity, physiology, childhood or early life experiences, side effects of certain medications, and psychological factors can all contribute to clinical depression. Stressful life, unbalanced diet, alcohol or drug use, etc. they can cause depression.

Treatment of clinical depression

Modern medicine uses powerful medications to treat clinical depression. Ayurveda has a gentler approach to curing depression.

There are a variety of techniques used in Ayurveda to effectively elevate a person’s state of mind. Ayurvedic methods of treating depression are completely free from side effects. Recurrence of depression to previous levels is also rare in Ayurvedic cure for depression.

The main requirement of Ayurvedic treatment for depression includes meditation, avoiding non-vegetarian food, eating lots of fruits and drinking lots of water; lie down, eat, and go to the bathroom at specific times of the day; Go to bed early before 10pm, wake up at sunrise, walk long distances in the morning light, and put your body in a balanced and active state.

According to Ayurveda, an imbalance of the three doshas (vata, pitta and kapha) of tridosha and general ignorance about oneself contribute to depression. There is less communication between neurons in the brain, which leaves the person inactive.
