Redecorate your existing roller blinds

Everyone likes to have new things from time to time. This is one of the reasons homeowners choose to redecorate their home every few years. It can be boring looking at the same old furniture year after year. Unfortunately, redecorating requires money and not everyone has the funds to redecorate their homes. They think they are stuck with the same furniture, floors and walls that they have now. This may be true, but there is one aspect of your rooms that you can change without spending a lot of money.

Your roller blinds are excellent candidates for redecoration. It has the ability to turn your current roller blinds into stylish new window treatments that can completely transform your room and decor. Think about it. You probably look out the window ten times a day. If you make this simple change, you can modify your view in no time.

Before you start redecorating your roller blinds, you’ll want to make sure you’ve dusted and cleaned them thoroughly. You don’t want anything to stimulate your creativity. Use a feather duster, a can of compressed air, or a vacuum to remove dust. Then, since you’re already removing the blind for redecoration, you can simply put the blinds in the tub and wash them with mild soap and water. Keep in mind, though: You should only do this if your blinds are vinyl. Fabric blinds should be cleaned according to manufacturer’s instructions only.

One way to redecorate roller blinds is to cover them with a piece of fabric. You will need to measure the blind carefully to know how much fabric you need. Make sure you get a little more fabric than you need to make sure you have enough. Use a glue gun or spray glue to attach the fabric to the blind surface. Wrap the extra fabric around the blinds or cut it off.

You can also paint the blinds, which while not as complicated as covering them with fabric, does require a bit more time and creativity. Use a sponge to apply fabric paint to your blinds. While you can probably paint your blinds while they’re hanging, it’s recommended that you remove them to make it easier. The last thing you want to do is have your perfectly planned pattern become a blur because the blind moved at an inconvenient time.
