Why should leaders bring JOY?

After more than four decades of involvement in nearly every aspect of leadership, from identifying and qualifying potential leaders, to training, developing, and mentoring thousands of actual and/or potential leaders, I have often pondered , some of the many nuances, involved in these activities and functions. Why are some focused on gaining the trust, admiration, etc., of those they serve and represent, while many others fail to gain that necessary connection? Why is it so essential for a leader to put forth effort and create a course of action, focused on creating a sense of HAPPINESS, in your constituents and, therefore, more joy, commitment and satisfaction? With that in mind, this article will briefly attempt to consider, examine, review, and discuss, using the mnemonic approach, why this should be an important consideration in choosing those we elect to serve and lead.

one. Justice; single; justify; juxtaposition: Nothing significant, effective or new is usually achieved, or even possible, unless/until one opens one’s mind, how to juxtapose sometimes unrelated ideas and approaches in a well planned and strategic way . Most constituents seek to feel a sense of fairness, from those who serve and represent them, to justify why they remain committed and involved with any specific organization! When our representatives are more, fair and equitable, and are perceived as such, most people are happier, more satisfied, and therefore more joyful in their association with that group!

two. Options; opportunities; objective; open mind: Most of us do not want to be led by someone with an apparent, My way or the highway, philosophy and mentality! We want leadership that is objective enough to consider various options and alternatives so that they are ready to either seize the best opportunities that come their way and/or create their own opportunity! To achieve this, we need people who are proceeding, with an open mind and without prejudice, prejudice and/or prejudice!

3. Yes; you; his: No one benefits from negative leadership, because it creates a meaning and apparent aura that stifles opportunities, objectivity, and positive can-do attitudes! We need people who are ready, willing and able to say yes to possibilities and be their voice to address needs, priorities and perceptions! Will you demand better of those who seek your vote?

If we want to reverse the current trend, towards an apparent shortage of genuine leadership, we need to elect people who improve our HAPPINESS of membership and membership! Are you up to the task?
