Logitech remotes deliver frustration-free home entertainment

How to turn five different remotes into one? It’s easy to buy a Logitech Harmony remote. Logitech remotes give you the power to operate all of the audio or video components in your home with a single remote. The Logitech Harmony remote costs from $99 for the base model to $399 for the touchscreen model, and believe me, Logitech remotes really do add harmony to your life; or at least to your living room.

Programming your Logitech Harmony remote is easy! No need to flip through a 900-page book with 4-6 digit codes. Do you want to watch TV? Then press “Watch TV” and before your eyes, the TV turns on, followed by the cable box. Nothing on TV for you? Press “Watch a DVD” and the cable box turns off, the DVD player turns on, and the receiver’s input changes accordingly. What makes Logitech remotes unique is that they don’t program devices, but activities.

Just go to Logitech.com, sign in to your free account, and choose all the devices you own. Then set the activities. It will walk you through asking which devices need to be on, which devices need to be off, and any settings for each input, channel, and even volume control. When everything is ready, connect the remote to your computer via the supplied USB cable and click “Update Remote”. All settings are packaged and sent to the remote which is now ready to use. Updating your Logitech remote is very easy.

There’s even an on-screen help menu in case something goes wrong. Hit the help button and it will try to fix the problem and then ask if everything is ok. Otherwise, it will step through each part of the process to ensure that the necessary devices are powered on and configured with the appropriate parameters for that activity. At the end of your viewing, press the power button and each device will turn off one at a time.
