Starcraft’s backstory

The Terran Confederation Hundreds of years ago, the prison ships that came from Earth with dissidents lost their nakedness and ventured far into the desolate Koprulu Sector. The ships landed violently on the planets of Tarsonis, Moria, and Umoja. Considered irrecoverable by the government that sent them on the expedition, the discontents established colonies around the sector. Tarsonis, the largest colony, was erected by the Confederacy, a strong but very tyrannical faction of the government.

The oppressive acts of the government caused great pain throughout the colony. Eventually, Arcturus Mengsk was inspired to act and thus emerged as a leader to fight the autocratic regime. He created a small militia of soldiers called the Sons of Korhal. They worked to take over the Confederacy and liberate the Koprulu Sector.

The invasion As the Sons of Korhal struggled to seize the Confederacy, a more powerful force threatened the Terran race. Huge ships caring for an alien species, called the protoss, invaded the sector and stationed themselves around Chau Sara, the Confederate planet. Seemingly for no reason, the alien protoss ships burned the surface of Chau Sara and left.

On another front, the Terran were under attack by a second enemy, the Zerg, an alien species with the imperative of ending all life. Learning of the zerg’s operations, the protoss ships sought to kill them before they could multiply throughout the region. The zerg had already claimed Mar Sara as a breeding ground for their army. Jim Raynor, a marshal of the colony, fought to protect his fellow Terran while his government allowed the entire race to fall into the hands of the zerg.

Sons of Korhal Facing the menacing Zerg and Protoss armies, the Sons of Korhal stepped in to fight enemies and save thousands of Terran. Disappointed by the disgusting acts of the Confederacy, Raynor joined the Sons of Korhal to fight. There, he was introduced to Sara Kerrigan, Arcturus Mengsk’s second in command. Kerrigan used to be a Confederate ghost agent. The two became very close.

Tarsonis As the zerg affected the fate of the terran race, the Confederate battle grew larger. Disgusted by the acts of his rule, Arcturus Mengsk erupted in a fit of rage, placing devices on Tarsonis, the capital world of the Confederacy, that would allow the zerg to wipe out the Terran population. Protoss enforcer Tassadar intervened to kill the zerg and free the terran. Mengsk disagreed with this and ordered Kerrigan to finish off the protoss. As Kerrigan fought the protoss, the zerg infiltrated Tarsonis, killing the entire population. When Mengsk achieved his goals, he withdrew from the planet, leaving Kerrigan to fend for herself.

Disgusted by Mengsk’s betrayal, Raynor immediately abandoned the rebels and ran to Tarsonis to rescue Kerrigan, but no one was left on the planet’s surface.

The Terran Domain Freed for his revenge against the Confederacy, Mengsk rebuilt the morale of his defeated Terran followers and formed a new government, the Terran Domain. His politics would eventually turn into a criminal system like that of the former Confederacy. As his power grew, so did Raynor’s hatred for Mengsk.

The Aiur Infestation Captured by the Overmind and its Zerg Swarm, Kerrigan was brought to Char, a volcanic planet near the Koprulu Sector. There, she transformed into the alien Queen of Swords, a creature with enormous psionic power.

Meanwhile, a second group of Protoss warriors emerged to aid Tassadar. Zeratual and his Dark Templar worked together with Tassadar to overcome the zerg infestation. However, their fight with the Swarm left them vulnerable, and the Overmind located Aiur, the secret homeworld of the protoss. The zerg quickly seized it as the Overmind took root on the planetary surface of Aiur.

The death of the supermind Fortunately, Zeratul was able to show Tassadar how he could fuse his powers with the void. With this superpower, Tassadar sacrificed himself and steered his ship directly into the massive Overmind, completely destroying it. Since the zerg had reaped total destruction on Aiur, the protoss had to leave and migrate to Shakuras, the homeworld of the Dark Templars. Then, with the Overmind crushed, Kerrigan (Queen of Blades) took the reins over the zerg.

Looking forward Meanwhile, Raynor was forming a small army of Rebel forces to fight against Megsk and his Terran Domain. To reduce Raynor’s threat, Mengsk used propaganda to curse his efforts. This has placed Raynor and his forces in a frustratingly distant position to attack Mengsk.
