207 reasons for insomnia and insomnia statistics

There are numerous reasons for acquiring the sleep disorder or disease called insomnia. Stress is a major factor in having this sleep disorder. People who are stressed out will necessarily have a hard time sleeping, as they will constantly be thinking about the things that stressed them out, making them less productive in the process. Another reason among the numerous reasons for insomnia that people can refer to can be found in obesity. Obese and overweight people will have a harder time sleeping than normal weight people, especially during hot summer days. They will be constantly sweating and feel warm or hot, making them feel uncomfortable and tired at the same time due to lack of sleep.

Recent insomnia statistics show that 8 out of 10 Americans or about 80% ages 18 to 45 have insomnia and about 6 out of 10 Americans or about 60% ages 46 to the 80 years also have it. From this information, it can be easily determined that younger people experience this type of sleep disorder for work-related reasons most of the time. Older people, on the other hand, who are already retired and have pensions, experience this insomnia on a smaller scale, probably due to fewer stress factors. A proper diet, exercise and enough rest are the sure ways to naturally combat this sleeping sickness without resorting to medication and other drugs in the process.
