Traditions of a recipe for Christmas

This goes back a long time and for most families it is the main focal point of their Christmas. Waiting to see what that big juicy turkey will taste like and how it will present itself at the table. Of course, there are many other Christmas foods, and many of these recipes have been passed down through the generations. It’s a bit creepy when we think about it; I mean, just think, our ancestors were eating the same mince pie that we’re eating now on our Christmas soiree. A simple fruitcake recipe

Why not try this easy fruit cake that doesn’t take much time to prepare and tastes absolutely delicious. This is a traditional recipe for the Christmas season and it will always be well received by your guests. To do this, you will need to compile the following ingredients:-

A cup and a half of grapes

Three cups of sifted flour

Cup and a half of grated dates

A cup of crushed walnuts

Two cups of water that has been boiled

5 tablespoons of standard vegetable oil

A teaspoon of baking soda

Two cups of sugar

Two teaspoons of cloves and cinnamon and add a teaspoon of salt.

Preparation

Now that we have all the ingredients measured out as above, simply find a clean, light surface and then proceed to lay them out. Take the sugar along with the vegetable oil and raisins and place them in a pot and cook on low heat for about twenty minutes or so. Be sure to allow the mixture to cool for approximately 5 minutes. During this time, the soda, salt and cloves can be mixed by sifting and then incorporated into the already cooled mixture. Now take your nuts and start stirring the designated amount into the entire mixture. An old trick to keep the nuts from sinking is to also add a little flour at the same time the nuts are added. Simply pour the finished mixture into a pan that has been previously greased and bake in your oven at 320 degrees for about an hour and a half. Set your timer for this and check additionally from time to time.
