1. Level up cheaply by buying organic recipes.
One of the easiest ways to make money from jewelry is to minimize your expenses. There are many rare quality jewelery recipes you can drink that make jewelery much easier to level up. By getting these recipes, you can significantly reduce your jewelry costs and, as a result, make more money.
2. Sell your daily quest reward.
In WotLK, jewelers get a very easy daily quest that rewards them with a token. You can then use this token to buy a Dragon’s Eye which is sold on the auction house for 100 gold. If you set aside 10 minutes a day to do this quest, you can earn 3,000 gold per month with little effort!
There is a similar quest in Cataclysm. You can buy the Chimera Eye and then sell it on the auction house. Within a few weeks of their release, they will be worth 100 gold cents each. Take advantage of this while the market is hot!
3. Avoid the rush to level.
When Cataclysm comes out, many players will be trying to level up Jewelcrafting as quickly as possible. The cost of jewelery materials will be significantly inflated due to all players trying to level up the craft.
Also, gem prices will be very low. It always takes a few weeks for players to get enough gold to buy all the leftover gems. Most players will not get gem hunting rewards, but will wait until they try to get at least instance level gear.
During this time, you should sell your materials instead of trying to level up Jewelcrafting. In a few weeks, prices will drop and you will be able to buy jewelry materials for much less gold. With a little patience, you will end up saving a lot of gold in World of Warcraft.

Remember to sell your quest reward items, look for recipes outside to buy from the auction house or from vendors when you improve your skills, and be patient.
