Paradise Islands – Bahamas

For anyone looking for a great vacation destination, try the island paradise of the Bahamas.

From Grand Bahama and Grand Inagua there are 23 inhabited islands and thousands of uninhabited islets and cays (pronounced cays). There is the very cosmopolitan Nassau with its duty free shopping, markets, casinos and nightlife to the Inagua wildlife sanctuary. There is everything in between. On some of the islands there are cute “East Coast USA” style towns. The only differences are the lovely weather and the palm trees.

These islands are truly wonderful, with some of the most beautiful and cleanest beaches in the world, clear blue seas, abundant marine life, exotic plants and wildlife.

The Bahamas have an international reputation for sailing, with regattas and races throughout the year. It is here that the Gulf Stream originates which gives the islands their abundant and varied marine life. Big game fish attract sport fishermen looking for the “big one.” There have been over 50 records set in these waters. The great writer/fisherman Ernest Hemingway lives here on the island of Bimini.
