Neuharth Award for Excellence in Journalism, David Brinkley Award for Excellence in Communication, John Peter Zenger Award, and American Legion Journalism Award. He was also inducted into the Broadcasting and Cable Hall of Fame. In addition to all of his accomplishments, he was known for his tenacity and passion. Tim Russert passed away from a heart attack on June 13, 2008.
